A 24-year-old nanny who died alongside eight others in a devastating private jet crash in Florida had spoken to her sister shortly before boarding the aircraft, her family has revealed.

Anita Maria Ramirez Cetina, affectionately known as Ana, was travelling with a family she worked for when their Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County on November 1, 2026.

The aircraft had been heading towards the Bahamas when the flight ended in disaster, killing everyone on board.

Now, Anita's sister has shared details of their final conversation, offering a glimpse into the young woman's life and the excitement she felt before the journey.

Who was killed in the Florida Learjet crash?

Nine people died in the crash, including technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 44, his wife Helen Sharp and their two children, Emma, four, and Charlie, two.

The family had been travelling with Anita and two friends, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.

The aircraft was operated by captain Jeffrey Gregory, 55, and co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20, who also lost their lives.

The group was reportedly travelling to the Bahamas to celebrate Adam's birthday.

Investigators have been examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the aircraft's final moments and reported communications between its crew and air traffic control.

According to reports, the Learjet descended from approximately 35,000 feet in just 76 seconds before crashing.

Investigators reported debris scattered across a wide area, with some wreckage found miles from the impact site.

The cause of the crash has not been officially established.

What did Anita say to her sister before the crash?

Anita had made a video call to her sister, Angie Ramirez Cetina, shortly before the flight, showing her the aircraft and the children she cared for.

Speaking to The US Sun, Angie recalled how excited Anita had been about the trip, particularly because she had never visited the Bahamas before.

"We did a video call, she showed me the children, she showed me the plane," Angie said.

She added: "She was very happy. She was truly happy because she had never been to the Bahamas, and even though she was working, she didn't see it as work. She enjoyed it."

At the time, the conversation was simply another moment shared between two close sisters.

Neither could have known it would be their last.

Anita, who had moved to the United States from Colombia approximately two years earlier, was just weeks away from celebrating her 25th birthday.

How did Anita's sister find out about the plane crash?

Angie has also described the devastating circumstances in which she first began to suspect something had happened to her sister.

She came across footage of the aircraft crashing on social media and began checking the flight's route.

As she compared the information with what she knew about Anita's journey, she feared the worst.

"I saw the accident, I saw the flight path, and truthfully, I didn't want to accept that it might be my sister on the plane," she recalled.

Confirmation did not arrive until the following morning, when their mother contacted her.

"But later, my mom called me on Monday morning and confirmed to me that yes, it was the flight Ana Maria was on."

The news left the family devastated.

Anita's sister shares memories of their close relationship

Although Anita had been living in the United States, she remained extremely close to her family.

Angie revealed that the sisters had last seen each other in July, around the time she welcomed her baby son.

She remembered Anita's support throughout her pregnancy, childbirth and recovery, describing her as someone who had always been there when she needed her.

"She and I were inseparable," Angie said.

Anita had also developed a particularly close bond with her nephew, whom she adored.

Her sister explained that these memories have become especially precious following her death.

How did Anita feel about working for the Robinson family?

According to Angie, Anita had a genuine affection for the Robinson family and particularly enjoyed caring for their children.

Rather than viewing the trip as another work commitment, she had been looking forward to experiencing somewhere new alongside people she cared about.

"She loved the job she had. She loved the children very much. She loved the Robinson family dearly," Angie said.

Her comments offer a personal insight into the relationships behind a tragedy that has attracted widespread attention.

What has been said about the Learjet crash?

Following the deaths, the teams behind technology companies Retention.com, RB2B and Moltsets released a joint statement mourning the loss of Adam Robinson and his family.

The companies described Robinson as a friend, mentor and passionate business leader whose influence extended beyond his professional achievements.

They also expressed sympathy for everyone affected by the crash and asked that the families' privacy be respected.

Meanwhile, aviation investigators are continuing to examine what happened during the aircraft's final flight.

Reported air traffic control recordings have prompted questions about the weather conditions the pilots encountered, but investigators have not announced a definitive cause.

For Anita's loved ones, the focus remains on remembering a young woman whose life was cut short just weeks before her birthday.

Her sister's account of their final call offers a poignant reminder of the ordinary conversations that can become irreplaceable memories after a sudden tragedy.
