Bonnie Blue has confirmed the birth of her baby, and addressed speculation over whether motherhood might mean stepping back from her career as an adult content creator.
The birth announcement
Blue shared the news via an Instagram video, confirming she'd had a C-section and that both she and the baby were doing well, describing the recovery as more painful than she'd expected. She'd been out of the public eye for several weeks following an earlier publicity stunt tied to her pregnancy.
Her plans going forward
Speaking to the Daily Star in June, ahead of the birth, Blue was clear she has no plans to retire, pushing back on the idea that becoming a mother means her career or lifestyle needs to change significantly. She said she intends to continue travelling and working much as she does now, adding that her financial position means she can access support most new mothers can't, including private travel, which she feels puts her in an easier position than many parents navigating things like limited maternity pay.
She also said she won't be hiring a nanny, despite admitting she isn't looking forward to the more hands-on aspects of early parenting.
Would she want her child to follow in her footsteps?
Asked whether she'd support her child going into a similar line of work, Blue said she wouldn't stop them if that's what they wanted, but was clear she wouldn't actively encourage it either, citing the level of public criticism and backlash that comes with the job as something not everyone is equipped to handle as well as she feels she has. She said she'd be equally happy if her child pursued something entirely different, like charity work or other interests.
