A Florida mother of two has been arrested and charged with sexual activity involving animals after her husband allegedly discovered footage of her with the family dog on hidden security cameras he had installed at home to investigate missing money.
Malia Nummerdor, 38, was reported to Charlotte County police by her husband Erik, who told investigators he had set up two cameras inside the family home after money began disappearing from a coin jar. While reviewing footage from a bedroom camera, he allegedly found a video of his wife with the dog. He provided police with the laptop containing the footage and later shared his allegations publicly on Facebook, claiming to have photo and video evidence.
The arrest affidavit states that the security footage allegedly showed Nummerdor "nude from the waist down, positioned with the dog in a manner consistent with sexual activity." The bedroom camera was described as visible to all household members, with a blinking red light, recording on a continuous rolling basis.
When police interviewed Nummerdor on September 15, she acknowledged she was the person shown in the video with the dog but denied any sexual contact had taken place, claiming she had simply been petting the animal. Officers described her answers as contradictory, saying she was unable to explain certain actions shown in the footage.
Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell addressed the case publicly and described it as one of the most disturbing of his career.
"There are only a few times in my career that I have been at a loss for words," he said. "This is one of those times. I simply cannot comprehend this behavior. No animal should ever be subjected to this kind of conduct."
The one detail that the Sheriff said made the case even worse: Nummerdor was smiling in her mugshot.
"And then to smile in the mugshot?" Prummell said. "I don't know what there is to smile about when you've been arrested for something as disgusting as this."
Nummerdor remains in custody at Charlotte County Jail with bond set at $35,000. She and Erik married in 2023 and share two sons.
