A tweet posted by Charlie Kirk in 2014, more than a decade before his death, has resurfaced online and drawn widespread attention, with many describing it as an unsettling coincidence given the circumstances of his shooting.
What happened
Kirk, 31, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA and a close ally of Donald Trump, was fatally shot on 10 September 2025 while addressing a crowd of around 3,000 people at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University. He was responding to a question about gun violence and mass shootings when he was struck by a single shot at approximately 12:20pm. Footage from the scene showed him reacting to being hit before collapsing, as the crowd reacted with panic.
The resurfaced tweet
Following his death, a post Kirk had shared on X on 23 June 2014 resurfaced, in which he'd written: "Did I just get shot by an AR-15? Feels like it." The post, originally unrelated to any prediction, quickly drew significant attention online, with users describing the resemblance to his actual death as uncanny.
Tributes following his death
President Trump confirmed Kirk's death in a statement on Truth Social, writing: "The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!"
Kamala Harris also issued a statement following the shooting, writing: "I am deeply disturbed by the shooting in Utah. Doug and I send our prayers to Charlie Kirk and his family. Let me be clear: Political violence has no place in America. I condemn this act, and we all must work together to ensure this does not lead to more violence."
