Salma Hayek has celebrated her 60th birthday in style, marking the milestone with a special post to her followers on 2 September, captioned simply, "60 and grateful."
A birthday full of love from fans
The post quickly filled up with birthday wishes, with fans praising how radiant she looked heading into her sixties, joking that "Father Time must be smitten" and telling her that sixty has "never looked better." It's become something of a tradition for Hayek, who marked turning 59 last year with a celebratory post from a yacht, captioned "59 trips around the sun and still dancing."
Her honest take on getting older
Hayek has spoken openly in the past about how she genuinely feels about ageing, telling People last year that she doesn't see growing older as losing her youth, since she believes real youth isn't just about appearance. She said she's met plenty of older people who feel young at heart, and younger people who feel old well before their time.
Rather than chasing a younger look, Hayek said her focus these days is simply feeling good in her own skin and still being able to make her husband, François-Henri Pinault, do a double take when he looks at her. She's said she's more excited about looking good at fifty and sixty than trying to recreate how she looked at twenty, calling it a different kind of beauty altogether.
A milestone year in 2025 too
Last year was a big one for Hayek in its own right, with the star appearing on the cover of the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Reflecting on the achievement, she said she never imagined as a young woman that she'd one day be part of the magazine, given she didn't feel she fit the typical model image growing up, and said it felt exciting to see how much the industry's standards have shifted over the years.
Her secret to feeling good
Hayek has previously credited meditation as a key part of how she maintains her wellbeing and outlook as she's gotten older.
