Katy Perry was once put on the spot during a 2017 livestream with James Corden, when she was asked to rank three of her famous exes from "best to worst in bed."
How the moment unfolded
Perry has had several high-profile relationships over the years, including with musician John Mayer, DJ Diplo, and actor Orlando Bloom. During the livestream, Corden asked her to rank the three men "from best to worst in bed," adding, "This is working on the notion that they're all good." Perry initially resisted, exclaiming: "No! They're all amazing lovers and I would have sex with all of them after I get out of this [livestream]!" She eventually gave in, ranking Mayer first, Bloom second, and Diplo third.
Her relationship with Orlando Bloom
Despite finishing second in that particular ranking, Bloom went on to become one of the most significant relationships in Perry's life. The pair were together from 2016 to 2025, becoming engaged and welcoming their daughter, Daisy, before separating last year. Perry has since described 2025 as a genuinely difficult year both personally and professionally, telling PEOPLE: "Last year was really hard. I learned how to step back into my purpose." The split coincided with a mixed reception to her album 143 and the start of her Lifetimes Tour.
Her new relationship
Perry has since begun a relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023. She said the pair first connected while she was touring in Canada, and has since described him as "the love of my life." Perry, who says she's a strong believer in manifestation, shared that she'd written a list of goals for 2026 the previous August, with "true love" as the final entry. Reflecting on meeting Trudeau, she said: "I had to let it go so I could move forward. I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it: Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece - then it showed up."
