Kai Trump, daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, has shared an emotional look at her final days before starting college, documenting the move in a new YouTube vlog posted over the weekend.
An emotional send-off
The 18-year-old, who's set to begin her freshman year at the University of Miami, filmed herself crying while preparing to say goodbye to family in Jupiter, Florida. She told viewers she isn't typically an emotional person and has only cried a handful of times in her life, but admitted the reality of saying goodbye to everyone was hitting her hard, describing herself as genuinely struggling with the moment.
Despite the tears, she said she was still excited for the next chapter ahead, framing the move as simply part of life, something everyone eventually goes through.
Kai chose not to film her actual goodbyes with friends and family, explaining she wanted to be fully present with them in the moment rather than filming through it.
Settling into college life
She gave viewers a look at her new apartment, which her mother Vanessa helped her move into and shop for. Kai described the process as exhausting but said she was grateful to have her mum there for the experience, calling her the best mum and thanking her for being part of it. She noted Vanessa got noticeably quiet and emotional at points during the shopping trip, though Vanessa herself joked about the milestone, noting it was one child settled with four more still to go.
Family background
Vanessa shares Kai and four younger siblings with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr., following their 2018 divorce. She's since moved on with boyfriend Tiger Woods and is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, a diagnosis she went public with in May. At the time, Kai publicly praised her mother's strength in facing the diagnosis.
